BBC Three pulling in the younger crowd

There is some good and bad news for the BBC, as viewing figures are attempting to settle down after all of the recent changes that have occurred over the past couple months.

It would seem that despite the marked attempt to draw the a younger group of viewers into the BBC Three fold, this may have initially happened but has now seemed to have levelled off. While as whole the BBC are apparently losing the younger viewer to other channels.

BBC Three saw the launch of Lilly Allen and Friends, this was supposed to be the herald of a new era in on the BBC and indeed it was for a short while. The show had over twenty five thousand viewers at first, but sadly this has now fallen to just over seventeen thousand.

The problem for the BBC will be the key date of 2012 when the entire UK will be digital. This is the time when the channels that are fighting for the younger viewer will be seen for the first time by many viewers. With E4, Channel Four and Five TV already established as good youth TV, the BBC will need to give the audience more.
